Glossary
A
Agent (AI Agent)
An off-chain Python script (main.py) that acts as an intelligent portfolio manager. It continuously monitors market data and executes transactions (like buyGold) on behalf of the user when specific conditions are met.
AMM (Automated Market Maker) A traditional DeFi exchange model (like Uniswap) where prices are determined by the ratio of tokens in a pool. Note: Aureo does NOT use an AMM; we use a Direct Oracle Mint/Burn model.
API (Application Programming Interface) A set of rules that allows different software entities to communicate. Aureo uses the Google Gemini API to fetch AI sentiment analysis and the Mantle RPC API to broadcast transactions.
AureoRWAPool
The core Smart Contract of the platform (0x475F...). It holds the USDC liquidity and has the exclusive authority to Mint and Burn mGOLD tokens based on Oracle prices.
B
Burn
The process of permanently destroying mGOLD tokens to redeem their underlying value in USDC. This happens automatically when a user sells gold or makes a payment.
Buy the Dip An investment strategy automated by the Aureo Agent, where the system waits for the asset price to drop to a local minimum before executing a purchase, maximizing the amount of gold acquired.
D
DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) An investment strategy where an investor divides the total amount to be invested across periodic purchases of a target asset in an effort to reduce the impact of volatility.
Decimals The number of digits to the right of the decimal point in a token.
USDC: 6 Decimals (e.g.,
1.000000)mGOLD: 18 Decimals (e.g.,
1.000000000000000000)
G
Gas Fee The fee required to conduct a transaction on the blockchain. On Mantle Network, gas fees are paid in $MNT and are significantly lower than on Ethereum.
Gemini API Google's advanced Generative AI service used by the Aureo Agent to analyze complex market data, news sentiment, and chart patterns to inform buying decisions.
I
Inflation Hedge An investment (like Gold) that is expected to maintain or increase its value over a period of time to protect against the decrease in the purchasing power of money (Fiat).
Instant Finality A property of the Mantle Network where transactions are confirmed almost immediately (~2 seconds), allowing Aureo to function as a real-time payment layer.
M
Mantle Network The Layer 2 Ethereum scaling solution where Aureo is deployed. It offers high throughput and low fees while inheriting security from Ethereum.
mGOLD The ERC-20 standard token minted by Aureo. It represents fractional ownership of real-world gold, algorithmically pegged to the XAU/USD price feed.
Mint
The process of creating new mGOLD tokens when a user deposits USDC. This increases the total supply, which is always 100% backed by the USDC reserves in the pool.
MockUSDC
A testnet-only ERC-20 token (0x53b8...) used to simulate real USDC during the Hackathon phase. It has 6 decimals, just like real USDC.
O
Off-Chain Processes that happen outside the blockchain network. For Aureo, the AI Agent runs off-chain (on a server or local machine) to save gas and perform complex computations before sending the final result on-chain.
On-Chain Processes that happen directly on the blockchain. For Aureo, the Storage of Funds, Minting, and Burning happen on-chain to ensure transparency and security.
Oracle (Pyth Network) A decentralized service that provides real-time off-chain data (like Gold Prices) to the blockchain. Aureo uses Pyth to determine the fair exchange rate for every Mint/Burn transaction.
P
Python
The programming language used to build the Aureo Automation Agent (main.py), chosen for its rich ecosystem of AI and Data Analysis libraries.
Pyth Price Feed The specific data stream from Pyth Network containing the real-time price and confidence interval for an asset. Aureo uses the XAU/USD feed.
R
RPC (Remote Procedure Call)
The endpoint used by the Python Agent to connect to the Mantle Blockchain (e.g., https://rpc.sepolia.mantle.xyz).
RWA (Real World Asset) Assets that exist physically off-chain (like Real Estate, Gold, Commodities) but are tokenized to live on the blockchain as digital tokens.
S
Slippage The difference between the expected price of a trade and the executed price. Aureo's Mint/Burn model guarantees 0% slippage relative to the Oracle price, unlike AMMs where large trades move the price.
Smart Contract
Self-executing code deployed on the blockchain. AureoRWAPool.sol is the smart contract that enforces the rules of the Aureo system without needing a middleman.
Solvency The state of having enough assets to cover liabilities. Aureo ensures solvency by strictly Minting only when USDC is deposited and Burning when USDC is withdrawn.
V
Vault
Another name for the AureoRWAPool contract, emphasizing its role in securely holding User Funds (USDC) and backing the mGOLD supply.
X
XAU/USD The standard trading symbol for Gold Spot Price in US Dollars. This is the ticker ID fetched from the Pyth Network Oracle.
